# 2) Backup Traders

> Voluntary supporters for Season 1 national team participation.

Backup Traders is the open door that lets traders who weren't pre-selected for the national team still join Season 1.

Traders rally under a single team name to support their country and compete on the same leaderboard as the official national team. High-performing backup traders may even outrank official representatives within their country bracket and claim a larger share of the prize pool.

## Why Backup Traders exist

The official national roster is intentionally small and selective — it spotlights the very best, vetted traders. Backup Traders exist so the competition stays open to everyone else. A backup trader who posts a higher net PnL than national representatives may receive matching recognition. The structure rewards actual performance, not selection pedigree.

As long as you meet the volume threshold during the competition (see [Rules](/en/partnership/rules)), you contribute to the country score and qualify for prizes. Prize allocation is then decided by where you rank within your country bracket.
